Did you know that some crystals shouldn’t be in direct sunlight?

This is because the sun can cause damage and even fade the colour of some crystals. Some stones become brittle and can crack due to the heat the sun gives off. Stones such as fluorite absorb the heat and can make it very hot to touch.

Sometimes crystals can withstand a certain amount of time in the sun but this should be monitored and never extended.

Many people that practice with crystals use the sun to charge and restore energy but here is some crystals that can’t be in the sun:

- amethyst ( colour fades)

- fluorite (fades, should only be in sun for 15mins!)

- citrine ( colour fades)

- turquoise (colour fades)

- celestite (colour fades, becomes brittle and can break)

- spirit Quartz ( colour fades and clusters could ignite if let in the sun too long)

Here are some crystals you can have in sunlight:

- labradorite

- lapis lazuli

- black obsidian

- moonstone (more commonly charged on a full moon but can be charged in the sun to balance masculine and feminine energy.)

- carnelian (orange colours are generally okay)

Even though I’ve named some crystals that can and can’t be in the sun please remember to do your own research!

I hope to chat to you all soon!
